Sta just released his latest mix for the month of September. I’ll let him describe it to you himself:
“People have been talking lately about how electro-bangerz are getting really tired and I’m inclined to agree. Disco, bassline, electro rap, big room house, WHATEVER, there’s all these buzzwords flying around between people trying to figure out what the next big trend will be in dance music. Well, I don’t know, but this mix kind of sums up what I’m into these days. Also, check out a new track I’m working on part way through the mix. Hope you like it,
It figures that when I mentioned one of my favorite producers in yesterdays post (Ocelot), that I would wake up to a new remix of his over at our fellow Canadian blogger’ site VoulesRandom.
If you’re familiar with Ocelot, this isn’t much different from his usual heater styling. Some nice fidget-esque vocals with an unrelenting beat that drives the rock influences into your head and through your body to your dancing feet. I grew up listening to a lot of rock and metal music and Ocelot is always able to bring together the stuff I like about dance music with the stuff I like about metal.
When you’re tearing up a rug listening to this, don’t be surprised if you do a bit of headbanging too.
Totally Michael has been all over the blogs in the last few days. Normally this would prevent me from posting about him, but in addition to Totally Michael being totally worth the post, I also have a Miami Horror remix no one seems to have.
First, let me talk a little about Totally Michael. He is totally signed to iheartcomix which has one of my favorite producers ever (Ocelot) and many other fantastic artists. The guys have taste.
I don’t know much about Totally Michael other than he is apparently from Indiana and likes to make quirky hyperactive cheeky tunes. After repeated listens he’s really won me over.
I think his biggest hit will be Casual Satisfaction with its great sing-a-long chorus. I’ve also provided The Hot Pink Delorean Remix of the song. I appreciate its Rock ‘N’ Roll take on the song (with a great breakdown) but my girlfriend seems to think it sounds like something that’s going to be used for a cell phone commercial (Boost Mobile perhaps).
I’ve also put up the song ‘Winona’ with the Miami Horror remix. Download all the songs. You’ll find something you like. Then head over to the shop at iheartcomix and buy all their CDs.
I’ve been listening to the new Mike Skinner tune for awhile now and I must say its crazy infectious so I have to post it. Reminds me of a little more light-hearted ‘Dry Your Eyes’ but still more serious than ‘Fit but You Know It’. There are rumors that the forthcoming album Everything is Borrowed may be his last, but if we have learned anything about rappers and sportsmen “retiring” its that they pretty much have to do it at least once so that they can have a “glorious” comeback. Speaking of which, when is Wayne Gretzky coming back?
Regardless, the song is really good to chill out to and/or you want to get your think on. I’ll also post the video which is rather drab but somehow fits well with the song.
I’m gonna stop saying “Okay, NOW is the time I really start updating this site.” You know why? Because it’s probably not true. I’ve had this site for 2 years now I think and I must have said that over 10 times. The fact is I do a lot of shit in my life (I like to think I actually have one) and working on code isn’t one of my favorite things to do in said life.
However, I can promise that I will update it this site when I feel like it which seems like it is once or twice a month and I’ll make sure to add radder and radder stuff each time. This site WILL get better and today is a step in the right direction.
I have organized all my DJ mixes and put them on their own page (under ‘audio’) as well as added a whole new ‘downloads’ section where I will post various Treatise On designs and things that you can download and enjoy in their full resolution (I started it with a nice desktop wallpaper that will guarantee some looks). I might even create some stencils and other stuff that people can download and cause havoc with on their own. In addition, I have updated the ‘art’ section with some things I did for new clients.
So check everything out and send me an e-mail at christian@treatiseon.com to let me know what you think of the changes.
